I finally started playing my Lack of Information character, had an idea for a project or even tournament around TC3s and I'm still tempted to start a Lightning Sorc in HC. Ah well, we all knew this was coming: I'll join. I need a good SC character to run future tournaments with anyway. We'll have to see whichever of my plans gets priority. And so my Sorceress 'Neverland' (named after the beautiful Marillion song) enters the game. I'll be keeping track of hours in, should be interesting.

An Assassins Martial art skill provides her with close range attacks that charge up damage and then there is a finishing move that releases the charged damage.
The shadow skill provides her the ability to make shadow doubles of her self, use psychic energy to attack and the ability to cloak herself. The traps consist of having a monster walk over it inflicting damage and Sentinels that shoot out elements and ninja stars. Druid: - a new character to the Diablo realm a Druid summons animals he has elemental magic attacks, and he can shape shift. The druid summons animals from the wild such as ravens to grizzly bears and vines. Each has so much life and does damage. The elemental magic summons the power from the earth.
He has Ice wind and Fire. His shapeshifting gives him the ability to turn into a werewolf or a werebear. After those he has fighting abilities only useable in the shifted form.
He can't use magic in shifted form but he can summon an animal like his form like in werewolf he can summon a dire wolf. Ethereal Items and Hirelings: - Submitted by: rickHH Ethereal items are generally undesirable, because although they are usually stronger than their non-ethereal equivalents, they are unrepairable. Hirelings, however, never need to repair their items. A good suit of ethereal armor and a helmet works wonders on the new hirelings. Baal's minions skip: - When you first find Baal he will keep summoning different demons to fight you. Eventually he will summon his lords of destruction which are extremely powerful. If you don't want to face them, have them follow you towards the entrance, then run as fast as you can back towards Baal.
If you do it fast enough, they will disappear and Baal will then go into the portal and you can go face him. Crafting Items: - What you need, Ort Rune, any kind of jewel, and a Perfect ruby or a perfect emerald, and the weapon that you chose (Has to have blue or have a white text). You put those Four items in your Cube and click the transmute button. Look in your iventory and there you have a crafted item Getting More Rare Items: - Equip as much magic find to your character as possible and go kill stuff and open chests, loose rocks, barrels, ect. Also kill Champion and Unique monsters for a better chance of getting good and rare items. If you have 100% or more magic find does not mean you will always get rare items, if you have 100% magic find, then you have 2x better chance of getting good items. Champion, Enchanted, Unique, Super Unique, and Bosses have a higher chance of dropping Rare, Unique, and Set items then regular enemies.
Try getting to a very high level(45+0 and get really good magic find and kill Baal on normal by yourself(So other people cant take your items) a few times, you should get at least 3 rare items if your magic find is very high(150%+). There is NO limit to how much magic find you can have, but sometimes magic find items can be weak. Hint: text: creat armor with 1000000 defense absorb all 124% 4567% better chance to find magic items 5678% more gold from monsters 5000% enhanced defense 5446% deadly strike 49 to all skill levels 4577 better gem find. Hint: In the level V, when you go to the 'Areat submit', before you go to the 'World'stone keep I' to kill 'Baal' you must fight with three guardian, each killed guardian give you a skill point and a gem.
So you can kill them and repeat it as much as you like to have many skill point and ruby. You should above the level 40 to kill them easily.Goodluck Hint: In the Kurast docks, to go to the last boss, you just need to find the 'Spider cave' that in the spider forest, go to a maze and look for a trap door. There is a switch near the trap door that use to open it. When you open the trap door, go through it and you get to a hall that the boss is waiting for you to be defeated by you. Kill him and you can go to the level 4. Easy like eat a candy.
Dueling Tips If u are into dueling i suggest u be a Amazon or a sorceress. You will have to get them to level 30 to get them really good at dueling.
If u choose an Amazon i suggest u get the level 12 spell multi arrow and upgrade it a lot till u get lots of arrows going at once. If u pick an Amazon u can also use the level 24 strafe if u are into free for all matches this will hit multi targets and every time u upgrade it u gain damage to strafe u could also use level 30 spell freezing arrow it does not shoot multi that is the weakness the good spot of freezing arrow is it freezes ur target that's what i have to say about the Amazon. The Sorceress with a sorceress master the one spell on level 30 called frozen orbs once you've mastered that go into a dueling game and kick some butt. But with both and Amazon and a sorceress u have to have a good mana level as other cheats say the Amazon would be the best if it had I higher mana level sorceress will not have a problem with mana. A sorceresses weakness is its not able to use good armor because of its low level of strength. Barbarian Character Help When the barbarian starts he only has a axe and buckler. This may be the best starting weapons of the game, but he can do much more.
Every character except for the barbarian doesn't have the ability to master in any weapons class. When you start gaining levels with you barbarian make sure to put 5 or 6 skill points into all masteries so when you find any weapon( except bows, spears, and javelins )you can use them effectually. When you reach the 5 act( bonus act) you will be in the late 20's range for levels. Put all skill points possible(20) into natural Resistances. If you do this when you reach nightmare level in the 1st act you wont be in the negative range for resistances. The barbarian also has a skill called Combat orders, I would give this skill an B+. It is extremely affective as it shows all nearby enemy's and also raises your defense by 250%.
In my opinion the sword is the best weapon in the game as there are so many verities of them. In my own game in nightmare, my barbarian has a level 15 sword mastery. That means that every sword that he picks up does an excess of 150 damage. With the skill leap attack it does another 357%. So even with a normal sword my barbarian does around 196-268 damage per hit.
It is also increased by Dexterity which helps my accuracy greatly. Right at the moment i could kill a level 40 with 10 hits. Take On the Druid- TANK 1.
Alternate between assigning 5 points to vitality and then 5 points to strength at each skill level. The Goal here is to have your vitality and strength within 5 points of each other until you reach level 20.By this time, you will really need some points in dexterity to improve your attack rating. 2.I would suggest that you are very frugal with your points in energy. My level 34 druid only needs about 40 energy to recast all of his pets and change forms. 3.The skills that you want to focus on are lycanthropy and werbear.
Put one skill into werewolf so that the points that you are spending on lycanthropy are not wasted while you wait to qualify for werebear. 4.Even though werebear and werewolf are both melee skills, remember that your attacks are still determined by the weapons that you hold, so make sure you have high damage weapons!! Your best friend here is the maul; Druids have a fast attack rate when using the maul, werewolf is even faster but werebear really shines when using it. The skills Maul and Hunger when in werebear form are devastating.
You will find that u can kill most creatures in one hit. This makes up for the werebears slow attack speed. 6.One of the most important skills that effects your hit points is the summoning skill, Oaksage.
This skill increases the health of you and your party members making it a great mid game skill. However, it becomes more important for you to have bonus attack rating called spirit of the wolverine by the middle of actlV and early of actV. By the time you reach level 30 you will be ready to learn 'spirit of the barbs' this skill grants you your pets and your party members a skill similar to the paladins thorns aura. If you have a lot of hit points you will be well served by this pet. Even the deadly monsters in ActV, egardless of the armor you wear, become a lot less terrifying. DO NOT PUT ANY POINTS INTO ELEMENTAL SKILLS WHEN CREATING A TANK.
Duriel Everyone says Duriel is so hard for the druid or any other character, well I found it very easy with my level 20 Druid. Before you go in there, make sure you have a lot of town portal scrolls. Then raise all the creatures you can (go for the ones with the most hit points) also make sure you have a lot of mana potions and Arctic blast. I had Arctic blast at 5 at the time but it will work with lower levels too.
Go into the tomb of tal Rasha. Duriel will instantly be on you. Run out of the way and let him go for your minions (you should also have a high level mercenary) while he is trying to killing them blast him with arctic blast. HOLD DOWN THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON (or the left, depending on which arctic blast is on. WHen all your minions/mercenaries die immediately use a town portal scroll and go to town.
Get mana/rejuv potions and summon all you minions. Also go to Griez and re hire your mercenary.
Go back to him and repeat. I killed him in 5 trips. (After wards he gave me the unique Treads of Cton, a very powerful pair of boots.
Pros and Cons of Characters You can never say that a class is 'perfect'. Here are the pros and cons of each class: Barbarians have a super high strength and vitality, meaning they won't get tired easily. Their great strength is an advantage towards armor and weapons. However, they won't be able to do their skills frequently because of their low level of mana. They also can't hit using bows or crossbows. Necromancers have an equal level of dexterity and energy. They can use a bow and arrow or crossbow and bolt with ease.
But their weak strength makes them impossible to use strong armors or weapons, making them vulnerable to any melee attacks. They make it up in their strong magic and free alliance. Sorceresses have super strong magic that will either work in long or short ranges. Their only drawback is that their weak strength and vitality make them unable to run in long distances or wear powerful armor. Amazons, like what the computer describes them, is a versatile fighter. Their great strength, vitality and dexterity is no match for Diablo's minions. If only they have a high mana level, they would become the most powerful class in Diablo II history.
Paladins have an advantage towards the undead and demons. Their ability to use any mace class weapons make Radament look like an idiot. Even their Zeal skill will make Diablo look stupid. Their only drawback is their mana is low, so you can't use Zeal immediately when you get to level 12. Druids, which has a skill of necromancy and sorcery, will make it one of the most complicated characters to train.
Har har, you say. Well, since its their vitality, and not their energy or their dexterity, is their highest attribute, it will be very difficult to master all its skills. Assassins never go around undefended. Their skills can be mastered anytime, for their highest attribute is the energy. Using traps and martial arts, you'll only die rarely. Getting More Rare Items Equip as much magic find to your character as possible and go kill stuff and open chests, loose rocks, barrels, ect.
There is NO limit to how much magic find you can have, but sometimes magic find items can be weak. Helping pick a starting character In Diablo 2 Lord f Destruction there are 2 new characters, a druid and an Assassin.
Joining them are 5 other unique characters each with 30 skills. Each person specializes in different fields of combat. Amazon: An Amazon is good with Bows and Spears. Her 3 skill trees are Spear and Javalin skills, Bows and crossbows and Passive. Passive offers any were from the ability to increase attack damage to being able to dodge attacks. Bows and Spears skill provide added elemental damage and special attributes. Assassin: An Assassin uses no Magic and Specializes in Martial arts Shadow masteries and traps.
Barbarian: a barbarian is the best in hand to hand contact. He has the ability to use two handed weapons in one hand. He has combat masteries, Combat skills and War cries.
Combat skills increase attack damage and rating of any of the six given weapon classes and increases stamina, defense and resistance. Combat masteries give the Barbarian fighting moves such as double swing and concentrate. Druid: a new character to the Diablo realm a Druid summons animals he has elemental magic attacks, and he can shape shift. The druid summons animals from the wild such as ravens to grizzly bears and vines.

How To Level Your Character This is the classic way to level any character. It is slower than getting rushed by other players, but its still fairly effective. Clear out the Den of Evil. Do Tristram runs until you are level 15.
Do Tomb runs until you are level 20. Do Cow Runs until you are level 24. Do normal Ancients. Do normal Baal runs until you are level 40. Get rushed from nightmare act1 to act5. Do nm Ancients. Do nm Baal runs until you are level 65.
Get rushed from hell act1 to act5. Do hell Ancients. Do hell Baal runs until your character is leveled to where you see fit.
Diablo II v1.09 File Format Diablo II Saved Game File Format for Diablo II v1.09 and the Diablo II Expansion Set: Lord of Destruction Updated April 2, 2004 visitors since Introduction I started out with just a page on the. However, after starting a new, and doing even more research on the 'unknown' fields in the.d2s file, I discovered much more information on the rest of the file that isn't available anywhere else. So I'm publishing my findings. File Header (Note: all values larger than a byte are stored in x86 little-endian order - i.e., least significant byte first. A ' short' is 2 bytes long, and a ' long' is 4 bytes long. Values starting with '0x' are given in hexadecimal notation; otherwise they are decimal.) Byte Position Size Contents 0 long File header. This must be the value 0xaa55aa55.
4 long File version. The following values are known: 71 v1.00 through v1.06 87 v1.07 or Expansion Set v1.08 89 standard game v1.08 92 v1.09 (both the standard game and the Expansion Set.) This document only covers version 92 of the file format. 8 long File size.
12 long Checksum. If you attempt to hack the file without storing the correct checksum afterwards, your game will fail to load! Fortunately, the checksum algorithm is a relatively simple one. After clearing the checksum field, you add up the values of all the bytes in the file, rotating the running total one bit to the left before adding each byte. Then store the result in this field.
Thanks go to the for publishing the checksum code. 16 long Unknown; the value can be either 0 or 1 20 16 chars. The name may be up to 15 characters long; the rest of the field must be padded with null bytes. Remember the rules for Diablo II character names: 2-15 characters, containing only upper and lower case letters (A-Z), with the possible addition of one dash ( - ) or underscore ( ) as long as it is not the first or last character of the name. These are the assigned to the hotkeys for Skill 1 through Skill 16. (Note that Skills 8 and above is only available in the Expansion Set.) If a skill hotkey is not assigned to a skill, the value is 0xffff.

Character Statistics The character statistics begin with the following header: Byte Position Size Contents 765 2 chars The string identifier ' gf'. This bit field indicates the presence or absence of each particular statistic. If the bit is 0, the corresponding statistic is zero and not stored in the file. If the bit is 1, the statistic has a long value stored in the file.
Note that many of the statistics are never zero, so they will always be present; but there is a bit assigned to them nonetheless. The bits are assigned as follows: Bit Statistic 0 Strength 1 Energy 2 Dexterity 3 Vitality 4 Stat Points Remaining 5 Skill Choices Remaining 6 Life (current) 7 Life (base) 8 Mana (current) 9 Mana (base) 10 Stamina (current) 11 Stamina (base) 12 Level 13 Experience 14 Gold in Inventory 15 Gold in Stash From this point on, the contents of the file are (more or less) variable, because the contents of the statistics section are optional. Field Details Strength These fields are self-explanatory. They are always present.
Remember, all values are stored as longs. Energy Dexterity Vitality Stat Points Remaining (optional) The number of Stat Points earned but not distributed. Skill Choices Remaining (optional) The number of Skill Choices earned but not distributed.
Life (current) These fields are (usually) always present. (There is an exception: if your character is dead, the current Life field will be gone!) They are also not plain integer values! Instead, each field is a fixed-point binary number, with a 24-bit integer part and an 8-bit fraction part. For example, if the life (current) field contained the value 0x020ac0, then to get the amount of life remaining you would take that value and divide by 256.0 to get 522.75 (rounding the number to an integer for display. Although I'm not certain in which direction the number is rounded). Note that the current amount of life (/mana /stamina) may be more than the base amount, because the base does not take into account any blessings bestowed by magical items you are carrying.
Life (base) Mana (current) Mana (base) Stamina (current) Stamina (base) Your character's level. This value must be in the range 1-99 (and is therefore always present, even on a new character) and should be the same as in the file header. Experience (missing on a new character) The amount of experience your character has.
If you haven't killed a single monster in the game, your experience will be 0, and this field is not stored. Otherwise, this field is always present. Gold in Inventory (optional) The amount of gold you are carrying. Just as a helpful reminder, the maximum amount of gold you may carry is directly proportional to your level, at 10,000 gold per level.
Thus, a new character can only carry 10,000 gold pieces (which is still a lot, if you think about it, even if each piece is smaller than a dime:), but a level 99 character (the limit) can carry nearly a million in gold (990,000). Gold in Stash (optional). The amount of gold you have stowed away. Just as a helpful reminder, the maximum amount of gold you may store in the stash is related to your level as follows: Level Max. Gold 1-30 int( level ÷10 + 1) × 50,000 31-99 int( level ÷2 + 1) × 50,000 The character skills section begins with the 2- character header, ' if'. This is followed by 30 bytes, each byte corresponding to one of the character's special skills.
To save space, I'll list the skills in a. The next major section of the.d2s file is the item list. It begins with the following header: Size Contents 2 chars The string identifier ' JM'. Short The number of items your character has.
This includes items equipped, tucked in your belt, stored in your inventory, stored in your stash, and hidden in the Horadric Cube. It does not, however, include gems, runes, or jewels which have been inserted into a socketed item. (Those are counted as part of the item.) This header is followed by a list of items. The format of the items is way beyond the scope of this document; refer to my page for a detailed description. After the list of items, you will find another item list header similar to the one shown above; only this time the item count will be 0.
It looks like if your character has died, then the item count in this second header will be 1, and 12 bytes of (unknown) data will follow, after which there will be another header and item list for items on your corpse. Sadly, I haven't died often enough to test this theory, much less figure out what those extra bytes mean.
If you have an Expansion character, then the corpse item list will be followed by the 2- character header ' jf'. If and only if you have a mercenary (alive or dead), this header is followed by an item list header and (possibly empty) item list containing items equipped on the mercenary. This item list is followed by the trailer characters ' kf'. If you have a necromancer, it is possible for you to have an Iron Golem that is preserved when your game is saved and restored. The Iron Golem is based on an item.
Following the mercenary item list, there will be a single byte that is 0 if there is no golem, or 1 if there is. If there is a golem, this byte is followed by a single item.
